Quality Technician III, Kallista

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Onsite - Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Be a part of the team by supporting Kallista Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain in inspections and resolving quality issues. Inspect materials per inspection plans, review Statistical Process Control (SPC) data from the suppliers, and recommend the accept/reject decisions for supplied and assembled materials. Work with internal and external contacts on material disposition and pursue credit or replacement of defective product.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming and internally assembled products to check a variety of quality criteria such as aesthetics, dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.

  • Record inspection results in the Quality Management (QM) system.

  • Review SPC data to validate product conformance and follow-up/ improve standard processes for product non-conformances:Create and issue Non-Conforming Material Reports (NMRs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs)

  • Review corrective and preventive actions from the supplier and ensure all the corrective/preventive actions are implemented.

  • Work with both internal and external suppliers to ensure inspection plans are in place and up to date.

  • Interpret engineering drawings and confer with management and engineering staff to add materials to appropriate inspection plans.

  • Writes deviations to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality and submit for approval.

  • Perform re-work of product as required by business needs.

  • Assist warehouse staff with disposition calls on RGA materials.

  • Support a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

  • Aid customer service in field complaints and audit current stock as necessary.

  • Occasional need to assist in training with customer service & authorized service representatives on proper troubleshooting and diagnostics

Skills/Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • An associate degree in quality or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification or as a Certified Quality Technician (CQT) is a plus.

  • Must demonstrate a solid understanding of measurement techniques, quality systems, and inspection processes.

  • Knowledge of quality techniques and experience in manufacturing processes.

  • Must possess a basic understanding in math to effectively understand statistical analysis.

  • Ability to read and comprehend prints, specifications, and understanding of basic inspection equipment and gages.

  • Ability to plan, problem solve, take corrective action, and have good oral and written communications skills.

  • Basic computer skills are required.

  • Ability to lift minimum 25 lbs as needed.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The hourly range for this position is $21.10 - $26.40. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
