Opportunity

Our team at Sports Core Health & Racquet Club offers a wide range of fitness activities, from swimming and tennis to group classes and personal training. Join our innovative team of well-being gurus and help our guests find a balanced, community-based approach to health.

As a Nutritionist, you'll be responsible for:

  • Provide explanation for individual food and nutrition patterns.

  • Recommend proper meal plans for members and guests in accordance with their preferences and general health.

  • Evaluate the health and diet needs of members and guests.

  • Calculate client nutritional requirements.

  • Analyze nutritional content of food.

  • Educate and consult with Personal Trainers and other wellness professionals about food and nutrition.

  • Conduct health promotion workshops and seminars for Sports Core in other community settings.

  • Educate the public about the need for proper dieting, its importance in disease prevention, etc.

  • Collaborate with the Pro Shop Coordinator regarding menu recommendations and other grab-and-go items. As requested, function likewise for other resort food outlets.

  • Build Nutrition programming and package offerings for members and non-members while collaborating with internal and external departments.

  • Be fiscally responsible. Work within re-established budget limits while planning and executing initiatives. Contribute to the financial success of the business.

Individual Nutrition Counseling

  • Access and analyze dietary practices, body composition and energy balance (intake and expenditure) of clients in the context of performance and health.

  • Provide personalized meal and snack recommendations to promote achieving short-and-long-term goals for athletic performance and good health.

  • Counsel clients on optimal nutrition for exercise training (match nutrition to training phases and goals), competition, recovery for exercise, weight management, hydration, immunity, eating disorders, etc.

  • Address nutritional challenges to performance, such as food allergies, immune disorders, metabolic disorders, and other health challenges.

  • Evaluate dietary and nutritional supplements and trends, for safety, quality, and efficacy. Educate clients relative to food selection and food preparation.

  • Document services provide and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies towards meeting desired outcomes.

  • Develop and deliver nutrition education presentations, demonstrations or events on various topics related to nutrition for performance.

  • Maintain accurate client records according to standard operating procedures; ensure confidentiality policies are followed.

This is a part-time role working Weekdays & Weekends. Shifts will vary between the hours of 5:00am – 10:00pm

Skills/Requirements

  • Minimum Certification of a Nationally Accredited Health Coaching Certification with specialty in Food and Nutrition or related area.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in nutrition counseling, preferably with emphasis on Sports Nutrition.

The competitive commission range for this position may be influenced by a variety of factors.
