Kohler Summer Intern - Environmental, Health & Safety (Kohler, WI)

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Kohler, WI

Term: May 2024 through August 2024

Opportunity:

Under the supervision of the EHS Manager or designee, the candidate will participate in the implementation of safety programs and related projects for the Kohler campus, working with management and associated teams to promote significant safety improvements at the site. Additional responsibilities include equipment safety evaluations, improving and expanding existing safety programs and continued development of safety programs within the Kohler campus.

  • Develop, review and update departmental Environmental, Health and Safety procedures

  • Develop, review, update and present Safety Training

  • Familiarize themselves with federal, state and local Environmental, health and safety regulations

  • Frequent contact with manufacturing associates to develop relationships necessary for changing safety culture and implementing goals

  • Develop general understanding of manufacturing processes

  • Participate in ergonomic and manufacturing improvement projects

  • Perform safety evaluations

  • Attend and facilitate ergonomic team meeting

  • Participate in injury investigation and management

  • Progress toward degree in Safety (preferred), environmental, mechanical or industrial engineering or engineering technology (or closely related technical field)

  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
