Category Leader, Transformative Projects

Opportunity
This position offers the right candidate a unique opportunity to lead all sourcing related activities related to complex and exciting new Kohler product development. The Category Leader will be responsible for all sourcing activities, including supplier sourcing, evaluation, price bidding and contract negotiation. This critical role will work with cross functional teams in cost saving and project scheduling, etc. This role will drive process improvements for the incremental sourcing teams. Leads sourcing related activities related to complex and new to Kohler product development, including supplier sourcing, evaluation; price bidding and contract negotiation. .
Specific Responsibilities
Sources new resources and visit suppliers as required.
Drive and Maintain NPD sourcing status and inform stakeholders
Drafts and reviews legal documents with suppliers
Initiates timelines and adherence measurements to project goals.
Building and driving teamwork across functional areas.
Proactively communicates project schedule date changes to customers building trust in interactions.
On a regular basis, publishes status report updates to superior manager along with detailed gap analysis and corrective action plans.
Works with SQE as a team on new supplier introductions and reduction of quality problem.
Promotes with self-development through the use of all available resources (i.e. training programs, seminars, sharing of best practices, and self-study
Skills/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar
7+ years professional experience of buying consumer electronics, appliances or related products.
Technical background and experience preferred.
Experience with international transactions and complex products

The salary range for this position is $83,300 - $105,200. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
